Just recently past 2 weeks my VMWARE guest running Win10 has started having terrible performance issues and periodically freezes for seconds at a time. The Host is not having these freezes and issues and this guest has been active for years so it's not new at all. TDSSKiller reported no rootkits. An example of what I'll see is I'm watching Process Explorer which auto refreshes every 2secs Then when it becomes responsive again, it's like it's catching vmware workstation 14 hangs free.

This was resolved a few days ago but I wanted to monitor for a few days before updating. The issue ended up being a hardware problem on the host. I thought Type1 meant the hardware was dedicated to running virtual machines and not a full blown OS. Yes, since enabling the Hyper-V role virtualizes your host OS into a virtual machine instance as well.
